EMET Questions

I don't know if anyone noticed that Microsoft gives recommended EMET mitigation settings for some common programs at the end of the EMET guide. I had not seen that before.

 

I have. Not on any public sites though.

 

Didn't realize they had released EMET 3. What changes and/or improvements were made?

Can I install over 2.1?

Yes, you can install over the 2.1 version.

It includes a guide for setting up system-wide settings and application specific settings using the new preconfigured ALL.xml.

There's a link to a previous post that explains in a bit more detail what EMET does but I haven't written anything in depth about why EAF is important or whatever.

 

Very helpful, thanks. I actually like the notifier since without it there's no easy way to know that an app has crashed due to a violation of one of the parameters.
