ekrn.exe making too many connections?

I've searched these forums and found some threads about ekrn.exe using too much memory. But it also uses too much of my bandwidth =[ Why does it use so much bandwidth? ESET doesn't update every second does it?

It looks like you have several applications communicating via HTTP while the HTTP traffic is redirected through ekrn.exe for scanning.

EKRN.exe acts as a proxy so it can scan network traffic for malicious activity. Because of this, all programs that talk to the network go through EKRN and so it appears that it is using the bandwidth.

 

Ohhh I understand now. I didn't know ESET scans that kind of stuff . Another reason it's the best I guess.
