For David or anyone who might be experiencing the following behavior: My Microsoft Edge Chrome updated to the latest version this morning which is 106.0.1370.37. I am using Sandboxie 5.58.5 Classic. I just tried using Edge Chrome and first thing that happened was my ublock origin plugin crashed according to a little window that popped up in the lower right corner This is the only extension I use in Edge. . So I thought in order to try and see if it is the extension ublock origin, I would disable the extension in the Edge settings. I tried again to open edge sandboxed, and now it is apparent they changed something with the edge update. It opens but no connection and edge does not work. It opens the interface, but no ability to get online. I also tried to re-install Sandboxie 5.58.5 but no difference with Edge. I mostly use Firefox and that works fine sandboxed. Just letting you know, it appears the latest update to Edge Chrome has broken sandboxie. Thank you for any advice or help...
You can add Code: OpenIpcPath=msedge.exe,\Sessions\*\AppContainerNamedObjects\* OpenFilePath=msedge.exe,\Device\NamedPipe\Sessions\*\AppContainerNamedObjects\* to your sandboxie.ini in order to solve the edge issue. Source
added to Edge sbox ini = not helping my Edge 1.3.5 + 106.0.1370.37 I needed to disable Security enhancements, too.
Thank you so much. I edited the sandboxie.ini from within the program, and Edge Chrome is working fine with Sandboxie 5.58.5. I really appreciate this.
You're welcome Rainwalker, I really appreciate this forum and you guys. Always so helpful over the years. Nice to see so many names I remember from years ago. Have a great weekend!
for security enhancements: (add them to global settings then reload it from Options>Reload ini file) Code: ApproveWinNtSysCall=CreateDirectoryObjectEx ApproveWinNtSysCall=CreateLowBoxToken ApproveWinNtSysCall=CreateSymbolicLinkObject
Thank you David for the latest Sandboxie Classic version 5.59.2. I removed the temp fix I had added to my Sandboxie.ini config file, then installed the latest version. That quick fix entry was: Code: OpenIpcPath=msedge.exe,\Sessions\*\AppContainerNamedObjects\* OpenFilePath=msedge.exe,\Device\NamedPipe\Sessions\*\AppContainerNamedObjects\* After installation, the window came up that mentioned the Edge Compatibility Fix. I am running Windows 10 Pro 21H2. Edge is working fine, and I appreciate your attention to the matter. Thanks for your hard work!
