Hi, I recently tried to update my version of EAV 3.0 to 4.0 on my labtop Lenovo V100 Serie with windows Xp. But when I tried to install EAV4.0 after the first reboot my boot sequence stuck at the loading screen of windows and will stay there forever. But in safe mode it load and when I uninstall EAV4.0 it's work perfectly with 3.0. I tried to restore my initial backup of windows with only lenovo app (all demo removed). I haven't tried to reinstall fresh new windows without any apps.

Anyone have encounter this problem ?

Did you install 4.0 on top of 3.0? You should try uninstalling 3.0 first from the ESET folder in the Start Menu (not Control Panel). Once you have done that, then try installing 4.0 and let us know if it still will not load.

The problem comes from either incompatiable 3rd party applications or because of old drivers.

I would suggest you reboot in Safe Mode , make sure all previous ESET products are completely removed (how to here) . Then , uninstall all 3rd party unnecessary Lenovo applications . Reboot in Normal mode , visit Windows Update and download/install all the necessary updates for Windows and your hardware (optional updates).

At the end , you could try installing EAV v4.0

I always uninstall prior to install a new version,

All SP ans updates are installed

As I said earlier, only what is "nessesary" lenovo apps is installed.

Since I have installed countless of EAV4.0 is one of the most sold AV in the store I'm working. It's the first time he give me headache to install.

I already installed on other lenovo laptop with all the lenovo "suite" without problem.

? Why not from the Add/Remove Programs? All that does is call the apps uninstall routine, correct?

    Hello shawiinfo,

The Lenovo software has been tested with our software with no problems at all. There may be something else that is conflicting with the ESET software.

Can you submit a support request here and attach a SysInspector to a reply email you get? Once you have done that, send me a PM with the case number and I will work to get a support rep to fill me on what they may find.

    Hi!

You are right but I am sure you'll agree with me that all these 3rd party applications (vendor applications like Lenovo's , Acer's , Toshiba's) are most of the time completely unnecessary , create nothing but problems and are a resourse hog for the machines. Most times it would be best without them .

Who knows what (else) is running on consumer machines that might be in conflict with these 3rd party applications and ESET NOD32 , as well.

Most of my clients are using IBM/Lenovo laptops including myself. Had no problems upgrading 4 right over on top of 3.
