Today Duckduckgo began launching with a new inner-face. Strange colors here and there and a row of about eight icons below the duck showing social media sites that one could click on. After a bit I was able to get back to plain Duckduckgo as it should be. Anyone else seeing this?

    It can be customised.

No, that is all your stuff. The junk I saw were links in a row below the duck and various colors doing a sort of LED thing. No matter, I guess. I took care of it. Interesting no one else has committed on this.

you forgot to tell about the used browser and - if installed - the used adblocker.
DDG is going to be a paid ad platform like adblock plus and its "acceptable ads".

Oh right. Yeah, I'm scared to uninstall it as one of its bugs is that sometimes it won't re-install on Ubuntu. o_O

well, at least it's true to its name: "bugvaldi" (as you call it). :D
joking aside, maybe you should give the portable version a try next time it does that.

Yeah, I might. I'll probably just get portable bugs though. ;)

The desktop isn't buggy on Windows. It isn't buggy on macOS. There are overheating issues on MacBooks. On Linux it's a bugfest. I wouldn't even try the portable on Linux.

might come. its android app will have a whitelist for acceptable ads. currently i dont have doubt they will implement this feature for the ddg page.

for the issue here - google choses from time to time some users for experimental ui for their page, it might be possible that Rainwaker was such victim for ddg.
