I am considering buying Disk Director Suite to assist in dual booting my PC. I want to have two hard drives both with completely independant operating systems to be selected when I boot the computer. I understand that this is possible with Disk Director but does it mean that, in theory and unlike a normal dual boot system, Either drive would still work properly if the other one was removed?

    Hello Pineman,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

Please be aware that Acronis OS Selector embedded into Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 resides on a partition of a hard drive. So if you uplug this drive then you will be not able to use Acronis OS Selector. But your second operating system (which is located on a hard drive that is still plugged to computer) will be bootable without Acronis OS Selector.

We recommend you to download and install the free trial version of Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 to see how the software works on your computer.

You can find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 in the respective User's Guide.

You may also find Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 FAQ page helpful.

Please visit Acronis online store to purchase the full version of the product.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
