I know there is a problem with Xp deleting Win7 restore points when it is booted up. But if you install the OS's on two seperate HDD's does the problem still persist? If so is there a 100% safe work around?

    razor0018,

It makes no difference if both OS are on the same HD or different HDs. I don't know what boot manager you are using but with a third party boot manager you can hide Win7 from WinXP when Win XP is booted. If you can't do this, when WinXP is booted remove the drive letter of Win7 in Disk Management. This will then prevent Win7 restore points from being deleted.

Why would XP delete retore points? Arent restrore points saved on the same partition as the OS install?

    This video...

"Prevent Losing Vista Restore Points when Multi-Booting with Windows XP" is a 1 MB download. It discusses the issue.
