No thanks, they scammed me last time.
    Do not trust this mob!
And above all, be extremely cautious if they employ someone to reply to posts on this forum.

As advertized on their site, you'll only have to pay once for 'lifetime signature updates'....and a small amount for the anual subscription.
    New flask, same wine?

No, I don't think they are offering a free version anymore but they are offering a 30 day trial.

Thinking of giving this a try. Is it to be run as a stand alone or with an AV?

You're giving them too much credit. Granny was nuts, but at least she was honest. Anyway, there are well-respected free offerings that can do the same things DriveSentry can. It looks also like this time they didn't even bother with a forum. Why bother I guess when you're just going to let tumbleweeds roll through them like the last time they were around.

I wonder if i hold the record for being scammed by false promises?
    1.TDS3
    2.Drivesentry
    3.Roboform
All of them gave pathetic excuses then failed to respond.
A Scammer thread would be just as useful as a rouges gallery list imo.

I'm going to stay away from this one. Anyhow I'm pretty happy with AppGuard.

    Hi All,

I have been in touch with DriveSentry and found that the new version of Protection Plus is concentrating on WhiteListing.
I have also found that most places are saying White Listing is the way forward.
McAfee and Symantec can not keep up with the anti-virus db as quickly as viruses are created.

DriveSentry from what I understand went into a big re-do and have since come up with the latest version, not meaning to stop peoples use if that is what happened.

I have gone from PC to Mac and now use PC at work again :( and using Protection Plus now seems to work well as a whitelisting tool

Protection Plus is a complementary product to work alongside your AV program to give you the best protection possible.

I know many of you have said that its a scam, but I am happy.

They do have a 30-day trial.

    Hope my findings help you.

First post. Any connections with DS?

Apologise if not, does seem suspicious.

DS has such a bad corporate rep on Wilder's it will be interesting to see whether people use the new product.

Once bitten, twice shy for me.

If the development team of DriveSentryPlus is looking for acceptance, a good start would be to honor the "lifetime" subscriptions that have already been sold for the old DriveSentry and converting them to a lifetime license for this new incarnation.

Word gets around fast on the internet and it's my opinion that these forums carry a lot of weight around the world.
A successful rehab of the product name here could only help.
The actual cost to them (DriveSentry) would be minimal, and the potential for increased sales through this action would be better than any other form of advertising I can think of.

    ^Agreed.

While I don't have any need or love for DriveSentry, upstarting the product again would seem to have a better chance if previous customers were compensated for their trouble and the aggravation that was caused by the subscription model 'overhaul'.
Perhaps a lifetime license is a bit much reg. compensation but a 3-5 years free subscription for their previous customers seems sensible.

Surely their marketing manager knows of the basic rule that a negative consumer experience is usually shared with friends and acquaintances 10 times over a positive one.

And DriveSentry Inc., change the text on the download page for -insert random deity- sake.
Annual subscription fee and lifetime signature updates, is exactly the reminder of past misery. All imao oc.

    1. Get a rep to at least pop by here or any decent tech forum, to say hello and talk a bit about the product.

    2. Create a support forum.

That's the only way that anyone that had previous experience with it, is going to consider it again. Users need to be able to talk to the company, and the company needs to talk to the users.
