    Hello Forum,
Can you please tell me what the white cross on spider guard indicates at start-up.

    white cross?

    more info needed...

i know the red cross might show at startup while its loading, and 2 white lines on the spider, is the new paused state which the new beta can offer.

I've seen this behavior since the last beta was upgraded. What happens is that when Windows boots up (or you log onto your Windows account) and the Dr. Web service is started, for about 2-3 seconds, a little white X appears in the Spider icon in the system tray. The X is in the center of the spider icon. The white X disappers after a couple of seconds.

Maybe this new Dr. Web beta takes a couple of extra seconds to initialize completely.

Would this be considered a "bug"? Or is this how the new BETA is supposed to fuction now?

@C.S.J. This behavior might be limited to Windows XP. I'm running Windows XP.

@Badcompany Are you running Vista or Windows XP?

    Hi CSJ,
At start up there is a white cross covering the spider in the system tray,it goes away after 30 seconds.Like you have a white envelope covering spidermail, this is on spider guard, but my friend as it permanently.

For me, the white cross goes away after about 5 seconds.

yeah ive noticed it in the new beta,

takes a few seconds longer to load after a reboot, i dont know if this is a bug, or just because its beta.

it definatly should not be 'permanent'

ok, so it aint a 'vista' problem,

Something similar was seen with v.4.22 but this time a red cross briefly appeared over the SG icon. It was connected with a delay in loading of the the SpiderGuard driver and was considered "a cosmetic glitch". Maybe this is also the reason here for the white cross!

Worth sending off to their Bug Report.

I send a bug report about this behavior. I'll let you all know what comes of it.
