I have a couple of questions about Dr Web 4.33.2 and VBA32 3.11

    First the good doc:

    1. Is there a way to change the taskbar icon for SpiderGuard? Currently it's black, or very dark and if you're using a black taskbar, like I am, the spider is impossible to see.
    2. Why you right click on SpiderGuard are you still told to register or renew your licence even if you have a valid licence? Is there any way to change that; I find that quite annoying.

    And now to the newcomer:

    1. VBA does not supports WB 5.x skins does it? I have problems using anything but the default xp skin (luna). Any way to fix this?
    2. Has anyone experienced insanely higher resource usage? VBA32 used to be extremely light.

Re: Dr Wen and VBA32 questions

Is this with all install options selected such as Anti-Dialer/Email Plugin/Script Checker/Sounds?

I am only running with the Script Checker and notice no slowdown whatsoever. The current version does take up about double the memory of the previous one BUT it still runs very light here.

Unlike its clone, VirusChaser, as far as I know you cannot change the system-tray icon in DW.

Vba32 resource usage is up here too.
It hasn't slowed my pc though.

Same here, as stated before. But I will run a complete scan in thorough mode, with Excessive heuristics and then select new files only to speed it up even more. :)

Has anyone ever tried running VBA32 with a windows theme other than Luna? I'm having problems with it. That's the only thing that's keeping me from using it.

Despite bad score in av-comparatives, i think VBA32 is very good AV. I use it in my virtual machine. Sometimes I go to hunt malware on P2P networks, VBA32 catches all.

Running it with "Royal" Theme without any problems.
Don't forget that the average user would not come across most of this zoo malware.

And one last question...is there any way to edit the VBA32 context menu so that there is only one option to scan selected files; I don't really see the need to change that setting on an individual basis?

Look in the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, use ctrl+F vba32, it should be in there somewhere and then try deleting the key when found. That "should" work. I cannot vouch for this as I am at work.

    Edit #1
Looks like it is run from vba32shl.dll don't know though.

    EDIT #2
Seems to be true, but I don't see any options for that type of thing. :(

I think you misunderstand; editing that key will erase both scann option within the context menu. I wish to only delete one as I find two to be very repetitive.

I understood that part, I was just saying it seems they are both connected. By looking at the VBA32Scn.dll this seems to be the case. :)

You wouldn't know how to set up VBA32 to work with a compression program, would you? I need to know the command switches.

    I forgot to mention this last month;
The process is protected so the themes don't work right unless you unprotect it.
    Then re-enable it later.

    Sorry so late.

Has the memory usage gone down in the recent beta. Also, can anyone please provide a changelog and link to the most recent beta? Is it possible to renew to a two year license?

I don't know if the memory usage has decreased, and there is no direct link to the changelog in english only to the gz file. I attached the text file.

Thanks likuidkewl for posting the VBA32 command line switches. I still can't get scanning to work withing my compression program; PowerArchiver. I downloaded the command line scanner, extracted it, and copied vba32w.exe to my VBA32 directory. But nothing appears to be happening whenever I try to sca; the scanning window pops us and disappears without doing saying anything. Any ideas?
