Downloading help NEEDED BAD

Hey this is probably a simple solution im jsut not very good with computers in this kinda way

im trying to downlaod a video tut for somthing but when ever i download it then open it it opens in notepad and its all a bunch of gibberish. this happens when i download anything so.. yeah if anyone can help thanks

 

Are you saving the vidio file to your hard drive before you try to open it?

Note the file type of the download. Is a zip or avi or mpg, etc?

Based on the filetype for this specific download, which program is supposed to open it?

Do a file search on your own computer and see if you have another file of the same type. If yes, then right click and open this file and see if plays prorerly.

 

i dont have another file on my computer no.

as for what it is i think its a zip file cuz i remember reading somthing about it before i downloaded it saying it was a compressed file.

still i dno what to do

 

Install VLC Player

 

If you're running XP it should handle any zip file without any problems, so must be something else going on there.

 

like i said when i download anything it opens in notepad.

Right click and select "open with" from the menu then browse for wmp.

Seems your file associations are mixed up or it may relate to malware.

when i click the open with then go to choose a file then browse type in wmp. nothing comes up it sais nos earch results found for wmp. inless wmp means windows media player in that case ive tried that and it sais it cannot be played..

 

If it was a ZIP or other archive, did you try extracting it first? You can use a free program like 7-Zip or Izarc.

 

Alright guys i figured this all out i jsut gota figure out how to watch / download the tut now
