    I hope this is the right section for this. I'm sorry if it's not. I want to use a download manager with tor, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've tried FlashGet and Internet Download Manager. Internet Download Manager says it can't find the server and FlashGet simply idles and does nothing indefinitely. Is it not possible to use a download manager with tor? Is there a special download manager made specifically for tor that I should use? Do I need to do something to set up the download managers properly?

    IMO, if you aren't using Flashget v1.73, go to -http://www.flashget.com/index_en.htm and download the classic version.

    Then Tools->Options->Proxy
    proxy.PNG

    Click on Add->HTTP<Get>
    proxysettings.PNG

    Fill in title, server and port.

    Set it as default if you want.

    Does it solve the problem?

    What do I put in the server and port positions? I tried 127.0.0.1 and 8118, which didn't work.

    I just downloaded "Installation Bundle for Windows" from this page: https://www.torproject.org/easy-download.html.en

    It worked right away after installation as you see:

    So yes it's 127.0.0.1:8118, check out in Vidalia control panel, are you connected to Tor?

    DownThemAll! (a Firefox add-on) works well with Tor
