Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) is the worlds most popular download accelerator, giving you the fastest possible download speeds, with privacy, security, and ease of use. Allows you to download up to 300% faster with increased reliability, resume support and errors recovery. It searches for mirror sites that most effectively serve your downloads through multiserver connections for optimal utilization of dial-up or broadband connections. DAP automatically recovers from shutdowns, lost connections, and other errors.

    Changes in DAP 9.5.0.1:
    * Complete support for the fast Google Chrome browser
    * Improved download process for easier and more reliable downloading
    * Accelerated video downloading via SpeedBit Video Downloader expansion
    * Smooth streaming video with optional video accelerator expansion
    * Firefox 4 support

    Known Bugs:
    * In the Chrome browser, automatic downloads are downloaded by the browser, and not with DAP
    * DAP right-click menu items do not function properly in Google Chrome version 5
    * DAP acceleration can not be disabled in Google Chrome on a web page that is already loaded
    * During new Google Chrome browser sessions, downloads are handled by Chrome, and not by DAP

Ok - how about sharing your experience using DAP with us. How's it run on your machine? Any conflicts we should be aware of??

I was awaiting of your response... :p

As far as my experience is concerned is like DAP quite good, but the only thing i hate is that it always changes my homepage, which i don't like. No conflicts ever faced...

I dumped DAP after trying it last time because it is badly adwared...

    <<
    · Offers to install SpeedBit Downloader with Auto complete that the program does not require to fully function.
    · Attempts to change the homepage for web browsers installed on the system
    · Attempts to change the default search engine for web browsers installed on the system
    >>

There are many good choices already avaible, with no crap included aboard, that I just prefer anyways.
    • Free Download Manager
    • Orbit Downloader
    • FlashGet 1.73 Classic
    • JDownloader (java based, special-ized tool)
    • and some more apps, + nice browser plugins (I like and use now mainly Opera's internal one, btw)

GigaGet is also said to be a very good free option, anyone who tried this one?

EDIT Internet Download Manager is often described as being the best paid option those days but I did not test it.
