Sites like isup.me allow you to check if a time out/loading problem is related to your location or of a general nature. I have used this a few times in the past when I was not sure if I had "locked myself out" (blocking my ip address on the firewall) inadvertently or if there was an issue on the site. Does anyone know how this works geographically. I suppose they are using a number of servers to test the site but this morning the site is definitely down for me, for some colleagues at a different location but apparently up on the testing site. Would that indicate a problem that is related to network connections reaching the data centre and only affecting certain nodes?
