Hi everybody I received an old hard drive from a folk at work, but before installing it on my machine I wanna make sure everything on it is completely erased. To my mind, the ideal would be to have a program such as Eraser, but which in addition could be launched in Dos mode from a simple floppy disk at system start up. Does anyone know if such a freeware program is available ? Ideally, it should be at least as effective as Eraser and also able to erase any partition one would decide to clean up. Thanks for advices, Rgds, Crockett
Eraser has a DOS version. It is the eraserd.exe file in its installation directory. There is also the option to create the nuke bootdisk in Eraser. The nuke bootdisk destroys all data in a hard drive, including partition tables, so you will need do partition the drive after using it. P.S.: I have never used the nuke bootdisk
