    Hi guys,

On the SpywareBlaster website it mentions the program not having to run in the background when blocking cookies. My question is does only the part of SpywareBlaster which blocks cookies not run in the background or does none of the program run in the background?

This looks like a nice program, but I don't want anything else running in the background on my machine. I'd like to try it out, but only if it's not memory resident.

    TIA!

SpywareBlaster doesn't need to run in the background for any of its protective functions to work. You simply run it, set all its protections and close the program. After that you only need to run it occasionally, perhaps once a week or so to check for updates to its database.

So, if you decide to get it, you download the program installer... Install SpywareBlaster. Run it, and use its built-in "Check for Updates" function to get the latest database download. Press the "Select All" button, then the "Protect Against Checked Items!" button. And that does it.

See this thread for an image showing setting the protections...
