does newgrounds.com have spyware/adware/viruses?

i heard it does. is this true?

Their "affiliates" I would see as questionable companies at best. This is almost certainly where the crapware code would come from. I happen to know that some of the companies associated with that site are listed under Spyware Blaster's blacklists. With the nature of the internet today, there are very few public sites that aren't associated with shady companies. It's not that you should avoid Newgrounds, by that way of thinking you could say that you should avoid the internet entirely, but that is just impracticle for most of us. I have been known to visit the site on occasion, I've never had a problem. You just gotta use the proper protection.
