Last year I used Partition Manager 11 WinPE disc to transfer Windows 7-64 from my 1 TB Seagate Hard Drive to a SanDisk 480 GB SSD. I made a video of it here. PCI-E M.2 is now the fastest technology, with current throughput of 1GB/sec. PCI-E M.2 throughput is expected to increase to 1.25 GB/sec in the future. If I were to buy the latest X99-based motherboard with PCI-E M.2 support, could I use the WinPE disc for Hard Disk Manger Pro 15 to work with the PCI-E M.2 stick?
It seems to me that you have to wait quite some time for any sort of reply here. I thought this was a tech support forum. Hopefully I can help. I recently purchased a Plextor M.2 256GB SSD for my ASUS Maximus VII Ranger Mobo. It was to replace a Crucial MX100 SSD. I know it's not a massive hike in speed, but as I am a 'tinkerer' I couldn't help myself! Bottom line is that I have a Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit installation with a UEFI BIOS and use Paragon HDM Pro 2015. Quite frankly it worked like a charm. I used the OS Migration tool and it transferred everything 'in a flash' (pardon the pun). I removed the original SSD straight after the migration so as not to 'confuse' the boot process. But it worked first time. HTH.
