    Hi,

I am a happy NOD32 newbie. One thing I am wondering about: Does DMON work with the actual MS Office software? I use OpenOffice, so I was wondering if DMON would do any good when I open all my MS Office docs with OpenOffice (or any other office package that can handle these file formats for that matter)?

    TIA for help.

I pulled this info from the help file. As long as Amon is running realtime, you are well protected.

DMON is a plug-in for NOD32 antivirus system that serves for scanning Microsoft Office documents and files downloaded automatically by Internet Explorer (e.g. Microsoft ActiveX elements). DMON provides an additional level of protection to AMON.

    NOTE!

DMON works only with applications that support the MS Antivirus API interface, such as Microsoft Office 2000 (version 9.0 and higher), or Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.0 and higher).

Thanks. I read that also. However, I am still a bit unsure: Being neither a MS Office nor Internet Explorer user means I can disable it?

I suppose that would be your decision to make. I use neither Office or IE and have it enabled even though it I haven't caught it scanning anything yet. Just an extra module for those that need it.

Hi Cdysthe, Marcos pointed out here:

Open Office is not supported with DMON.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D
