I have a Sony monitor with the traditional 4:3 physical layout. It is quite capable of displaying 16:9 (1920x1080) though. I was wondering if there is a CRT manufacturer out there who makes a CRT with a 16:9 physical layout.

I tried Viewsonic, Sony and some others. I could use an LCD for this application, but would prefer not to. Any input would be great.

I don't think there are any 16:9 CRT monitors. Or if they did exist, I'm sure they don't get manufacured anymore.

Sony manufactured a 16:10, the Sony GDM-FW900. But I have not been able to find any others.
