This is a little bit of a strange question.

OK. I've been using a computer since I was about 5.

On my back, I have several lines going almost horizontally accross my lower back up to the bottom of my ribcage. My dad has almost indentical scare like marks on his back in almost exactly the same place.

My mum thinks it is from sitting in sprung based chairs programming for too long (my dad is a programmer for a large bank). Has anyone ever heard of such a thing happening to others, is it the chair?

That comes from bench pressing the mouse at porn sites..they go away if you take a cold shower.

There is no sensible answer..you set the question up with predetermined suppositions and you did not provide enough information for medical diagnosis...but rather spinkled it with irrelevent information.

Change the chair..then post back in a month. :)

I have not used the chair for ages, I don't even know if there was any chair and if there was if it caused this problem.

:D Are you sure there are any scars then ? Could be just the shadow in the mirror. Do you have a pic to post ? I will have Dr. Who take a peek.
Daleks have those same scars I am told.

There not wrinkless or shadow, there as plain as day. They are reasonably thick scar like marks.

    JimmyBoo,

So which picture are we supposed to show our daughters?? Hmmm?

You sound like you need to go for a nice long walk, entirely tooo much time on your hands! There's lots of work around here to be done if you can't find something to do? Well?

Bless the A levels...but at least both those links will help you bone up on the hard questions. ;)

There is one other possibility but I can't remember that much about it.

When I was 11 years old, my mum was giving me a lift to work in her car and someone crashed into my mums car head on (ah the 1st time I sued someone). Anyway, it might have been when I was thrown back into the seat that caused the marks, if not it might be stretch marks from just growing.

Your dad has similar marks, too, right? Ever hear of DNA or genetics- as in birthmarks or muscle configurations and whatnot that pop up similarly on family members? Just a thought.

But I think mouse bench pressing cause is more probable overall anyway.

    Wouldn't YOU like to know?
mouse bench pressing causing strained ankles, sprained wrists and severe back pain, apart from headaches, eye strain, and nausea.... (search for ergonomy, HP has some nice stuff on their site)
the scars are probably because of your accident, or maybe genetic.
