about windows 7 the windows are really huge if you use a laptop and windows 8 could look ugly

on devian art there are really veral beautiful visual styles

    do you use them ?
do you want to share how do you os look?
and is there a safe program to patch the dll to use a visual style?

    thanks

Do you mean hacking the theme so you can use your own user styles?

Recently I decided to stop using the Classic theme just to have larger Close/Min/Max window buttons (my eyes prefer larger things these days)

Using UXStyle to patch and the Uniko theme to remove the default button colours and make them appear less visually offensive.

Seemed to me like an awful lot of trouble just to achieve this, but it was just an apply then forget procedure.
(I still gag at the thought of the extra resources used but just try to ignore it)

    hi
    under windows 7?
what does happen if you run via cmd as administrator ? they should repleace the dll patched
    SFC /verifyonly or /and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    i have used UXTheme Multi-Patcher 15 , i guess it's safe
    thanks

    Yes, this is using Win7x64

"UxStyle is a bit of software that relaxes Windows theme signature requirements to enable third-party customization.
Specifically, UxStyle consists of a tiny system service and a kernel driver that are loaded into memory where they hang out until reboot.
No file system changes are made."

    @mantra,

This the fact to replace the green color of all progress bars (windows and software) by a black one or dark blue one.
it consist to replace aero.msstyles (black or dark blue, the two i have) and pacth them with Universal Theme Patcher (little software).

There is just a negative point for certain user (not me), if you run command chkdsk, the progress bar will remain green, you've to do it again, otherwise there is no performance or security impact for the system.

PS : If you want, i can upload the package for you.

    Hi Fad
    may i ask a question ?
is there a different between uxstyle vs Universal Theme Patcher relating the visual style ?
i know the first installs a service ,better for windows 10 , the second does patch several files
but do the visual style look the same with uxstyle and universal theme patcher?
    thanks
