One old habit of mine for years was to install SUPERAntiSpyware just for the sake of cleaning out tracking cookies. I like it because I can clean out the tracking cookies whilst keeping my other cookies intact so I don't have to keep logging in to the 10s of sites that I visit. Do you guys still do this? do you clean all your cookies perhaps? Or do you just not bother?
CookieAutodelete takes care of all cookies and caches nonstop, it prevents fileless cookies. On top of it, I use clear browsing data on close then wise disk cleaner and a thorough manual cleanup upon shutdown.
My browser is set to clear all cookies on exit without exception. The browser is also set to block most tracking cookies (strict). Almost all the lists I use in UBO equally have this functionality. My vote is no.
but then are you ok with logging in to every website, forum, shoping site over and over again? @Sampei Nihira
No, I don't clear them, because there's nothing to delete in the first place. uBlock Origin, Firefox and the hosts file take care of them. On browser exit, I let "Cookie Quick Manager" delete all cookies, except the ones that are protected.
I ran SAS for over a decade on Windows. I regularly used to clean tracking cookies with it. I run Unix only now so have to rely on blocking tracking in the first place.
Tracking cookies are handled by browser's adblocker or 3rd party blocking in browser. I clear all cookies via the browser on exit with exceptions. No need for 3rd party de-crapifiers or extensions to do this. Cleaning cookies with an extension isn't proven to protect your privacy.
Between my browsers blocking trackers, having them set to delete all cookies on exit and running Privacy Eraser before shutting down or restarting my machines, I'm pretty covered.
I use SuperAntiSpyware more as a backup to Malwarebytes. I go into 'history' in the browser, and delete cookies from there. At the end of the day, I always use Bleachbit and CCleaner back to back. I also have Cookienator installed.
I don't let browsers to clean cookies. I have scheduled a daily clean-up with Privacy Eraser which also takes care for cookies excluding exceptions (especially sites where I'm logged in).
