Hi, who can help me, our office have 70 computers, we use push install to install nod32 to all the pcs, most of them can be done, no problem, but only one computer got error, "could not setup IPC connection to ....(SC error code 6, GLE code 1396)", I check all the settings, the same with other computers (simple file sharing, firewall, domain...), try many times, still the same o_O o_O

I checked the GLE code 1396, it means "Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect", but don't know whether it is this problem.....

Can you ping each computer by host name. Sounds like it doesn't know who the target device is. Do you have a dns server?

We are still unable to push install to that pc, we have a internal dns server but that is not hosting any A records.

Ping to PC by host name is not a problem:oops:

    A must for push installation:
    1. You should be logged on correctly if you are on a domain
    2. Windows Firewall (or any other firewall) disabled or correctly configured to accept certain communications
    3. Remote Registry enabled
    4. User Account Control (in Vista only) is better to be off

Otherwise , contact ESET by phone:

Can you open up to the computer \\localhost\localdisk$ If you don't have rights it will ask you for a username and password.

    for example: \\mycomputer\C$

I had two machines fail a push install with ERA and happened to be watching them at the time. They both displayed the good old System Shutdown in 60 seconds message similar to the Blaster Worm. Enabling the Remote Registry Service rectified the issue on both machines. The problem was reproducible and I tested it a few times after I worked out what the issue was.

Pretty sure both machines are clean and fully updated.
