I'm trying to get a new laptop's startup to run a bit faster. Four of the startups are dll files for Java Plug-in SSV Helper.

Is it *probably* okay to remove these 4 dll's from startup?

yes, it's totally ok to remove them. what do you use java for? it is best to uninstall it from your system.

@imdb Thanks for the comment. Java came pre-installed on this new laptop. Checked the net re Java. You are dead on right -- it's an infection honey pot. It's a shame that the hackers made it so dangerous to use. From what I read, Java is a very versatile, friendly-to-programmers, efficient programming language. However, I have removed it from my computer.

you're welcome. do you have any other suspicious startup items? if yes, just post your startup list so we can help you fine tune it. :thumb:
