dnscrypt-proxy is (nearly) dead ... is it really?

    I had noticed a couple of days ago that the official dnscrpyt-proxy github repository was read-only and eveyrthing was transferred to this new repository.

    That new repo contains an announcement:
    However, what's interesting: Frank Denis has started a new repo just yesterday that says:
    Does this mean that we will have two competing dnscrypt implementations in the future? A bit irritating ...

    It doesn't matter if it dies or doesn't. It was never anything other than a middleware hack to keep us going until DNS-over-TLS came to fruition. Since it looks like that may happen this year, there is nothing wrong with just continuing to use the current version you have installed until DNS-over-TLS is final.
