i installed disk director and tried resizing my xp and vista partition. it says it requires a reboot and it does that and boot into the dd suite partition screen. it analyzes the partitions and then does nothing, it reboots and says completed then boots into vista and nothing was done. i can't use the boot cd's because it gets to loading acronis and stalls. i have ich9r southbridge and every thing is sata. the dvdroms are a promise tx4 sata2 card.
    am i missing thing?

Have you tried the Safe Mode version of DD from the CD?

When starting an operation from Windows that requires a reboot, Disk Director boots to the same Linux recovery environment that is on the CD. So if the CD doesn't work, then neither will a reboot from Windows.

Have you tried booting to the safe mode version on the recovery CD? If the full mode version won't work, sometimes the safe mode version will. It's worth a try. If unsuccessful then you should go to the Acronis web site and file a trouble report. They can often provide you with a special version that will work with your hardware.
