Disclosing birthday - is it new law in USA ?

    It's not a new law. In fact, it is an old one. See google search on COPPA.

    There is a fair amount to the rules, however, the main jist is that if you operate a site that is geared to children, you need to follow the COPPA guidelines for account registration.

    The specific forum you linked to may not itself be geared to children, however, that forum is simply one of hundreds, probably thousands, hosted on a free forum service. I suspect all the forums there have the same rules applied to them since the site owners can not know the intent of every new forum created each day.

    Thank you for that LowWaterMark. So I assume that Wilders not being geared specifically to children have tailored their registration requirements accordingly i.e. disclosure of birthday is voluntary.
