I have two 320GB Hitachi hard drives each with two partitions. One drive is a mirror of the other and I use Director Suite as preferred mirroring software.

Had a problem with one drive which, cutting long story short, re-formated and set up to mirror on-line drive.

Now here is the rub.........this drive is not seen by Director Suite o_Oo_O

I can see the drive via Windows Explorer, My Computer or via Administrative Tools/Disc Management. Can't see via Director Suite. I've plugged in a Removable disc (1GB) and this is seen. I've uninstalled and re-installed Director Suite but still refuses to recognise the 320GB drive. Help Please.

What version and build of DD are you using?

Are you using the Copy Partition option to mirror the drive?

Are you doing the "mirroring" from Windows?

Does DD see the new hard drive when booted from the rescue cd?
    Full mode? Safe mode?

What did you use to reformat the drive? Windows Disk Management?

Have you tried clearing the partition and recreating it?

    Does chkdsk show any errors?

Is the drive internal or external? PATA, SATA, USB, FireWire?

I have had a drive disappear from another program before, but a wipe of the drive with DD fixed it.

Many thanks for your reply. Rather than go through each point individually, I'll jump straight to the one that fixed the problem..........

Have you tried clearing the partition and recreating it?

No I hadn't and so I did. Problem fixed and DD now showing "lost" drive.

    Once again, thanks

    :D ...:D
