I am able to disable AVG AS Pro to the extent that it does not show in the tray at start up. However, the guard is not disabled according to WinPatrol Active Tasks, only the icon in the tray seems to be disabled in WP.

Is there a way to disable the guard also, so that I am able to check conflicts, and load times of my AV?
The guard exe remains active even though I click exit on the icon in the tray.o_O

    Thanks,
    Jerry

    Start > run > services.msc > ok
Look in the list for AVG Anti-Spyware Guard.
Doubleclick on it: stop the service and set it to manual.
    Restart your machine.

    Hi Gerard,
Thanks for the help. I hated to have to uninstall it to check things out.
    Regards,
    Jerry
