I'm not surprised. Despite the reviews, I am mostly unimpressed with phone cameras. Similar to how CDs and records are making a comeback. Not everything newer or more convenient is better.
Then either the camera technology was defective or you did not familiarize yourself with the operation of the camera and the basics of photography. Smartphones relieve users of this effort, but also reduce the user's options for individually designing the photo. Smartphone cameras and digital cameras both have their place and it is up to each user to decide which device is more suitable for them.
