Diff/Increm BU and sheduling

Where or how I determine in the sheduled BU that it must be a differential or a incremental BU?

If you did a hard drive or partition backup, meaning you selected entire partitions, differential backup should be your method to do additional backups. If you backed up individual files or folders, then incremental backup is your method.

The difference between the two is one works at a sector level and the other at a file level.
