Standart Heuristic is used to detect Win32 viruses (which infecting other programs), BOOT viruses and so on... Advanced Heuristic is used to detect new worms, trojans, dialers, and other "new generation" of malware..

Ok thanks. So regular Heuristics is for things that arent exactly viruses but have the potential to be a virus, and advanced is for new unknown viruses...?

As far as my take on it goes.

    Regular *is* for viruses.

Advanced *is* for everything else like worms, spyware, adware, trojans etc as was mentioned in the previous posters msgs.

If am incorrect here, mods feel free to delete or edit this post.

    Regards,

    Jag

P.S. I hope that you are using the advanced setup along with having your client compatibility set to higher efficiency as per Blackspear's thread, for higher protection. ;)
