    Hi

i found impossbile to install ati drivers under w7
i guess i did a mistake , i used drive cleaner ,without uninstall the old

in short , the installer starts and after stops with an error
and i can complete the install

the only thing i could i do is install the drivers via hardware manager

    i haven't a restore point

    i found that 's a common issue

does somebody had the same problem?
were you able to fix it ?

    thanks
    cheers

How about uninstalling and re-installing after creating a backup (restore point)?

I had the same issue once.
Here is the way to fix it.

    1. Try to find the "ATI Catalyst Install Manger" in your Programs and Features and then uninstall it.

    2. Download and install Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.

    3. Open the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and clear all entries for "ATI", "Catalyst Center Control" and "CCC". There will be a lot of entries of each.
    Don't touch anything else.

    4. Open your Device Manager and select your "ATI" Display adapter and uninstall it and then reboot your pc.

    5. When Windows reboots, it will automatically install a Microsoft generic driver. That's ok for now.

    6. Download the latest ATI Catalyst Software Suite- http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-32.aspx and then install it.

    7. It should overwrite the Microsoft generic driver after you reboot your pc once again.

    Good luck.:D
