    Hi,

I'm using eset smart security v3.0.
Firewall is configured to "policy-based mode"
I'm trying to deny outgoing ping from my computer.
So I tried to add these rules:
    1. Deny all inbound/outbound ICMP traffic.
    2. Deny inbound/outbound ICMP traffic to particular IP address.

These rules don't work - I am able to ping whatever mashine I want.
What am I doing wrong ?

    thanks
    Vilius

    Hi vilius

I reported the lack of ICMP control back at the beginning of march.

ICMP rules should also give you control of the type/code.

    Hi,

You are talking about v4 - what version exactly ?
Because according to eset - http://www.eset.com/support/news.php - in their v4.0.417.0 anauncement one of the fixes is named "Fixes and changes to ICMP filtering".
So I'm interested - do they fixed this in latest version ?

    thanks
    Vilius

    Hi,

    Yes, the latest release.

There was some changes made from the first V4 release, but it was related to inbound pings - replies made. Control and correct filtering still need to be added.
