Regarding defragmentation, I know it should be disabled.

    1. If the automatic defragmentation in Windows 7 is enabled (default) shouldn't it be disabled by the RSS 2011 setup? I ask because it isn't.

    2. Just to be sure: it has to be disabled even for non-system partitions?
What I mean, is this an invalid configuration too? C: (System) = disabled, D: (Data) = enabled auto-defrag

It is blocked, but only after the defragmenter starts. No changes are allowed to happen and in Windows 7, you should see an alert in the Action Center that the last defragmentation attempt was unsuccessful.

In theory, no as only the System Partition is virtualized when using RSS Pro/Free and RVS Pro 2011. When you enter the Virtual Mode however, the system virtualization driver is designed to terminate ANY defragmentation solution to ensure that nothing gets damaged.

The recommendation is to turn Virtual Mode off, defragment your disks, and then re-enable the virtualization. If you run with Virtual Mode Always on, there is no reason to defragment your System partition OR alternate partitions when using RVS Lite 2011 with multi-disk Virtual Mode as nothing will change on the drives thus protected.
