I'm liking the skinless DW. My subscription runs out in August so I still have a bit of time before updating my license. WOW! The memory usage has dramastically dropped from the previous version. I've got 5 untrusted apps open and firefox and it is only using 4500k mem. Well done!

With the next versions, I can make skin option dynamical (switchable on and off). What's your opinion about it?

    this forum is biased!
it should be the users choice, personally i think the skinless option doesnt look good, but everyone thinks differently, to have both skins optional would be great Ilya.

My opinion is different. Offering a buggy skinned UI leads to more support cases of users who don't know about this issue and therefore spoils the defensewall experience.

It's better to offer a functional skinless version only.

But why don't we make a poll, so the majority of the users will decide.;)

    i don't understand what the issue .
dw can be released in 2 version , skin and skinless or an option to switch between this 2 status

skinless is faster and stable , so i think that count at the end :)

I think being able to choose is good. Certainly, it is much better to have the skinless compared to the current buggy skin. Skinless may be uglier but you are sure it won't crash. I suspect currently most DW users prefer the 2.46 skinless over the 2.45 with skin.

Skin engine is about to be changed, so, it won't crash. Even in case of its crash, it's fully supported by its developer and I will be able to send crash dump and provide improved skin engine to the customers.

Skinless is better for me. Don't need the pretty pictures, just the protection.

I agree with Team Skinless. Its so much lighter and crash free on my Vista.
But for the general audience at large, the switch option would be best.

By the way, is the switch proposed to be in the installer or in the program itself ??

What is the skin issue everyone is talking about? Im using v2.45 right now and havent experienced any crashes at all. Anyway, i tried 2.46 and it does run slightly faster but i prefer the skin so im back with 2.45 :)

My vote is for switchable too, Ilya. I will probably run it skinless though. I haven't had any problems with this skinless version so I am apt not to change a good thing. :D

    I like the skinless.
The program is all that matters.
However, I think users should have the choice.
Some people do judge the program on the GUI.

    Best version yet Ilya! :thumb:
