Hi Ofris is presented as a DeepFreeze for Linux: http://www.unixmen.com/software/1876-ofris-an-opensource-alternative-to-deep-freeze-application http://sourceforge.net/projects/dafturnofris-id/ On UBUNTU http://www.codenitro.com/ofris-deep-freeze-for-linux-ubuntu-10-04/ But restoring home directory can't be compared to reboot and restore solutions which work in a more powerful manner. You can mount root as read only and use mount overlay in to a second partition. Then, when shutting down, after the partition is unmounted, reformat it and wipe it clean. You can also allow remounting other partitions with write to allow preserving data. Essentially, a live cd behavior when installed. Mrk
hi, In fact i was looking for a kind of DF a few years ago as i am not a VM fan As OFRIS is just one of them, i can also add: -LETHE: http://lihuen.linti.unlp.edu.ar/index.php?title=Guía_de_instalación_de_Lethe http://sourceforge.net/projects/lethe/files/lethe/ -FSProtect:http://freecode.com/projects/fsprotect http://packages.debian.org/sid/all/fsprotect/download -LinFreeze: https://github.com/sloshy/LinFreeze http://piecesoflint.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/linfreeze-deep-freeze-like-software-for-linux/ There is not a lot of Ebola malwares on Linux platform, that makes testing easier by monitoring system file changes for instance.
