Oh sorry. I just thought it was 'interesting' as the figures seemed to contradict earlier ones. I think it's my English sense of ironic humour coming through again.

Oh yeah, I have the site on a Google Reader feed, I don't actually know why, I think it seemed like a good idea at the time.

 

I know how you feel. I would never link to anything dodgy though. I use WOT & regularly check out sites with Virus Total. I'm pretty paranoid, it's probably safer that way. There will never be anything untoward under my bonnet.

 

Yeah, that looks like the source material. I didn't realise it was such old news. It seems to me that many of these 'statistics' seem to be a bit contradictory. I just have an odd sense of humour.

 

Most browsers show the underlying link on mouse-over, don't they? So one normally doesn't need to click. On mouse-over, Chrome shows us the link contents in a status bubble at the bottom of the screen, Firefox 4 beta 8 shows it in the address bar, and Opera shows it just next to the link.

Of course, I can see an argument for not even wanting to mouse-over anything as a security concern.

And we aren't even talking about shortened URLs.
