    Hi There,

I haven't actually tried Acronis on Linux before, so I downloaded the trial and I'm installing it on Debian Stable (sarge 3.1).

I get the following error when I install it, I'm wondering if anyone knows what I'm supposed to do?

Running 'rpm -U --percent --force --nodeps /tmp/RPMS.Q9SMeI/dkms-2.0.4-2.noarch.rpm':
rpm: To install rpm packages on Debian systems, use alien. See README.Debian.
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - No such file or directory (2)
error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm
    finished
Running 'rpm -U --percent --force --nodeps /tmp/RPMS.6BspYr/dkms-2.0.4-2.noarch.rpm':

If I try alien'ing the installer it just says unknown type of package. Anyone have a clue? Thanks.

    Thanks,
    Justin

I had some Little Debian snack cakes once, but other than that, I have no idea what you're talking about - sorry.

    Hi,

most probably the directory /var/lib/rpm is missing on your debian system. Try:

    # mkdir /var/lib/rpm

    and try again.
