Hi. I am in a pickle. I installed DD10 successfully and then installed OSS on my shiny new vista 64 laptop due to a burning desire to get WinXP going.

I can't see the vista 64 OS at all in OSS. I tried the solution in the 'simple solution' thread for this, but am no further forward. I copied ntldr, boot.ini and NTDETECT.COM into the C:\ directory, but OSS still can't see vista to boot it.

Vista still appears to be there.

Is there any way I can restore the MBR? I am not able to access installation discs as it is an HP laptop, and all I can do from a recovery perspective is to blow the whole thing away and return it to factory condition.

I can probably install grub, but I would probably need access to the MBR which I am assuming that OSS has backed up?

Is there anyone that can help me unstuff myself?

    ta.

    Mark.

Did you create a DD CD with Acronis Media Builder that included the OSS programs?

If so, did you try and run the OSS installation from the CD and choose to uninstall? Maybe it will put things back like they were (it should).
