Any advantages to one over the other?

I've always used keyscrambler, but have seen Dataguard mentioned a few times around here.

    Any input? :D

NextGen of same company is more a direct competitor of kescrambler free. On x32 systems you can use DataGuard and Keyscrambler side by side. I have no idea whether NextGen is better than KeyScrambler or Vice Versa.

@Boost, since you are using GeSWall, adding DataGuard does not increase protection.

Does it work the same way? Only for IE and FF? :doubt:

Their NextGen is same as KeyScrambler. They have free version also available. The Free version works with IE,FF and Safari. So if you use Safari and then NextGen Free makes sense.

Apart from that, they say that they'll add support for your fav. app within 10 days of asking !! Is cheaper than Keyscrambler, but KS works with Windows Login also, which as of now NextGen doesn't support. Also KS supports x64.

DataGuard is more like Zemana and a HIPS. So if you have already a HIPS product then DG is redundant. IMO if you really need a HIPS, there are better options than DataGuard.

Is it a browser add-on or a standalone tool? :doubt:

the diference will be with a stand alone that there are some malware design to kill running task especially security software and those that they target more like mbam etc,etc and with keyscrambler is a plug in so if malware attemps to kill keyscrambler it will also have to kill the browser and this will defeat the keystroke grabing from the browser so in my opinion keysrambler is better protection and method than dataguard;)

I use Zemana AntiLogger, Online Armor and DefenseWall HIPS as anti-keylogger protection.

I guess adding DataGuard would be a bit of overkill, or...? :doubt:

Definately. DataGuard will not add anything new to the party.

Well crap, you're right, I just now noticed it wasn't popping up in 3.6 after you mentioned it. That's a bummer, I'm glad my system has been clean.

    Same here.
Strange wise the Firefox add-on site shows "This add-on is for older versions of Firefox".
But for me it worked to install the latest version from the QFX site after installing FF 3.6.

    Cheers

    Hi,
That's because, if you look closer, the version in AMO is not the latest one. It's not been updated for ages.

    @ance
You need to get it from the developer's site, since it won't show up when doing a "check for updates".
Also, if you check "Automatically Check for New Versions" within KeyScrambler's options, you'll get it at next start up of Firefox and will be notified for every new one in the future.

Do you confirm, they all play nice together?
I'm on OA and Zemana AntiLogger and thinking of installing DefenseWall.

    Thanks in advance.

That's how I fixed my issue. I just ran the installer again and only checked off Firefox, and now I'm good to go.

Yep, and I 've just added DataGuard to this combo. No hickups so far.
