IMO, social media should never be used to predict any kind of human behaviour. But I know that given how our society develops these days, my wish is next to impossible to achieve...
This is typical, that the most effective means for privacy and security start with the using actually caring, 1st, and then finding means for protection.
Broad "privacy" legislation can backfire as much as help, but appeals can help. The core issue here is intent: I can see the argument for "private" information, but not for public information such as tweets.
I think contracts are fine, and it is up to the user to want to patronize a service that sells information. However, fraud and concealment are not acceptable.
