Over 1.2 million user records from the popular Stalker Online MMO game were made available for purchase on hacker forums, a new report from CyberNews has revealed today.

CyberNews, n independent cybersecurity research publication with a mission to educate and protect consumers around the world from security risk, has reported a data breach of massive scale that's compromised an alarming amount of personal data for players, both old and new, that have made accounts for the massively multiplayer online game.
Details leaked and available for purchase include email addresses, user names, passwords, phone numbers and IP addresses.

The CyberNews report suggests that if you are – or ever have been – a player of the BigWorld Technology game, you should consider your data exposed and vulnerable.
As such, if you have a Stalker Online account, you should change your password immediately.

"As part of our dark web monitoring project, we regularly visit multiple darknet marketplaces and hacker communities in order to help prevent cybercriminals from taking advantage of large-scale data breaches, says CyberNews, explaining how they discovered the breach.
"On May 5, we noticed a thread with the Stalker Online database posted on a popular hacker forum."
