    Hi,

Hope I'm in the right place. Ran cwshredder and recieved mess. that I had "c:\windows\twunk_32.exe" but not to remove unless advised. I ran adaware and spybot and checked again. Still there. Any advice?

    Thanks, big ed

    Do NOT remove twunk_32.exe
It is a legitimate Windows file.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Hi,

Thanks for the prompt replies. I won't delete anything. Should I just continue to click no when prompted? Should send the hi-jackthis thingy?

    Thanks, big ed

    big ed,

If SpyBot, AdAware, or CWShredder found and removed a lot of items, then yes, I would definitely post a HJT log to be sure all baddies were removed from your system....

    Regards,
    Kent

    Hi Puff-m-d,

The only thing detected was twunk_32.exe by cwshredder. Sb and ad-aware were clean. (ad-aware had 4 low threat items as usual).

    Thanks, big ed

    big ed,

Thanks for the response. Since AdAware and SpyBot picked up no spyware/adware and you only had the false positive from CWShredder, and you are not experiencing any problems, then there is no need to post a HijackThis log.

Why did you run CWShredder in the first place? CoolWebSearch is very obvious when you have it ans CWShredder should not be run by clicking on fix unless you have CoolWebSearch.

    Regards,
    Kent
