    Hi Kardo...You're welcome. :)

P.S. Perhaps, if you PM @emsisoft or @Fabian Wosar from Emsisoft , they can have a look.

I just tried the search, with just one letter, then two letters. Seems more work is needed with that...sorry.

    Hi Kardo,
    Thanks for the newer version.
I am still having some issues.
1)I'm using the newer portable version and already getting the .net runtime error again. I'm wondering if it is a conflict with CCleaner as it seems to occur often when I start CCleaner.

    net runtime error 2.png

2)Although I don't see 2 taskbar icons now , I'm still seeing a CS icon momentarily in the taskbar when booting up which quickly disappears before the UAC prompt allowing CS to run.
3)I'm also still seeing 'Cloud connected' even though a firewall rule has not yet been set up.

    regards
    Gordon

I clicked on settings, and the system froze. See screenshot that shows the clock at 11:47 pm. After about 5 minutes, I tried the Windows + L key combination.

That got a response after about a minute, and it brought up the login screen, and I entered my password.

So, that allowed the first screenshot to be completed, and a further two screenshots to be taken at 11:53 pm and 11:54 pm, the last showing the settings UI, that I was trying to get initially.

About a minute ago, while the settings UI was still showing, I clicked on the 'protection' tab, and the program just disappeared off my screen.

I know why it disappeared off the screen. It is because had pulled the USB stick from the my tower when I had the system freeze, I mentioned above. I thought I was going to need a complete reboot, but as described above, it wasn't required.

All is well, this time when I reconnected the USB stick to my computer, and restarted Crystal Security, I was able to go straight into settings this time, and no freeze. I think, maybe WSA had interfered somehow. This time I took the precaution if disabling the WSA "Realtime Shield" component. So, all is Ok...I think.

I didn't have the time to extensively test but search seems to filter only the file name not path.

Currently search filters out only the file name. Should I add path filter too? :p

Gordon, Thank you for the feedback!

Hmm.. I'll try to find solution - It is possible that I'll send so called "Developer version" of Crystal Security to re-produce your issue and also find source of the problem.

    I'll look into it.

Seems like cloud connection checker is not working.. Will be fixed.

    Regards,
    Kardo

Hey kardo. Remember vaguely about a future version with no .net framework requirements so how is the development on the none .net version going? I have the same problems as the reported before. Seems .net is causing way too many problems.

    Hi Pedersen,

    Thanks you for the interest.
Unfortunately there is no plan for the none .net version. Currently I'd like to work out
all features, fix most of the bugs and so on based on .NET 3.5.

.. but let's see what the future brings. :)

    Hi Kardo,
I've had to stop using this version of CS because of too many .net errors stopping other progs such as CCleaner from running.
I noticed at boot up that I don't get a second icon in the task bar anymore but CS doesn't allow anything else to run in the task bar either until I allow CS with the UAC prompt, then the other stuff loads. ( Windows firewall control and Volume controls ). This should not be happening.
    Regards
    Gordon

    Hi Gordon,

I'll create a "Developer version" ASAP.. so we can work out your reported issues.
Maybe I know the source of this issue - "errors stopping other progs such as CCleaner from running".
It is possible that it is caused by Digital signature verfication feature but I am not sure at the moment..
It would be nice if you could make a video of this issue.

Finally, I hope that your reported processes detection and other issues/errors will be fixed in the
next Beta version and you can continue to use the program. :)

    Regards,
    Kardo
