If you don't take the time to learn how to go about "self custody" in crypto you are basically setting yourself up for such hits. Self custody improves almost daily and its simple as can be, especially with hardware wallets doing the work for newbie's. Unfortunately most are lazy and simply think they will get a "cash cow" by throwing money in an exchange. The remarkable aspect of self custody is you are completely independent without Gov oversight if you know what you are doing. The downside is the naysayers and exchanges many times are simply not your friends. Getting into Crypto without the discipline to learn self custody leaves you completely exposed regardless of how the reputations are presented. Been doing this for over 10 years now and I have seen and read about all the crap!!
