Hi @ Wilders I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this, if not I am happy for the Moderator to move it. I have a Windows 10 x64 bit UEFI system TPM enabled, 2600Gh Ryzen Processor + 16 Ram. An Asustek BIOS Prime B450M-K motherboard. BIOS version American Megatrends Inc 2006 13/11/2019. Gforce GTX 1650 Graphics card I am trying to create a bootable memory stick with any reasonable Linux version. However I keep running into a problem on boot. I get a "Firmware bug error message : ACPI region does not cover the entire command/response buffer". (The message is a lot more long winded than this) I usually end up with the error message and a substantially black screen and no boot. I have tried Linux Lite, Linux Mint and several other distros all exhibiting the same problem I used Rufus to burn the ISO's to USB (as a a live CD) with persistence. Can anyone guide me as to what the problem might be? Thanks Terry
Hi Brummelchen Thanks for that. The error message in the link is similar but not exactly the same as mine. However TPM is mentioned and the solution appears to be to switch it off. My PC has TPM enabled because I am expecting to install Windows 11. Having to go into the BIOS to switch off TPM everytime I want to boot Linux is hardly a user friendly experience? I also note that my BIOS is quite old:- 2006 13/11/2019 The latest version is:- 3604 15/03/2022 Do you think that the BIOS updates may improve the user experience in dealing with switching TPM on and off? Thanks Terry
