    Hello,

I am trying to use an external 400GB USB2.0 hard disk to be used as RESCUE DISK so that it can plug it on a faulty system, boot from it, and then re-image the drive. This will allow recovery exclusivelly from an external hard disk and withouth the need of using the rescue CD.

The idea was to have a FAT16 partition containing the rescue utilities, and a large NTFS partition with all the disk images.

How do I make the disk bootable from the rescue partition ?
I assume that I will have to modify the MBR to point to the acronis rescue loader but I don't know how to do that.

Please help, I posted on the disk director forum but no answer ... maybe I did not explained myself clearly.

    Thanks in advance.

Have a look in your BIOS.
If there is something, you can cange, to boot from an USB device than you'll manage to do it.
