    I activated the Startup Recovery Manager, created a Secure Zone on a SATA disk, and tried to create an image on the Secure Zone. I get the error message below. What do I do next?

    thanks

    acronis_new_user

    PS: The sata disk is new, there is nothing on it except for an empty partion and the Secure Zone. This disk is not included in the list of things I want to image. I'm running Acronis TI under Windows XP on Gigagyte NFORCE 2 mb w. Silicon Image SIL3112 SATA controller.

    Hello acronis_new_user,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

    We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

    Please try to do the following:

    - Navigate to "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Computer Management" -> "Disk Management";
    - Close the "Computer Management" window and try using Acronis rue Image once again.

    The reason is that some software holds your disk and doesn't allow Acronis True Image work with it. When you launch Disk Management Windows gets the full access to all your disks and after you close the Disk Management window Acronis True Image will be able to work with the disk.

    If the workaround doesn't help please send a letter to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread and our Support Team will certianly help you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I had already found this piece of advice on your forum. I did not work unfortunately. Meanwhile, I have disabled the Secure Zone; it was not obvious to me anyhow whether it would integrate with my backup workflow, which will involve swappable disks for occasional off-site storage.

    The good news is that I was able to create my first images on a removable SATA disk.
